Steve Nash Wants to Play Three More Seasons After Contract Expires, Can He Do It?
Steve Nash’s contract runs out after this upcoming season, but that doesn’t mean that the Suns point guard doesn’t want to continue playing in the NBA.
The two-time MVP of the league saw down with amNewYork on Tuesday and voiced how he wants to play three more seasons of basketball after his contract runs out. Here was the question that was asked by Max J. Dickstein and Nash’s answer to it. (more…)
Why the Phoenix Suns Shouldn’t Draft Jimmer Fredette
My blogging counterpart Greg Williams wrote yesterday on why the Suns should draft Jimmer Fredette in the upcoming draft later this month. Even though I personally like Fredette, I don’t think the Suns should draft him and go in a different with their one and only pick in this year’s draft.
Of course, there are a lot of things to like about Fredette. The first thing you notice about him is the eye-popping numbers that he produced in his senior season at BYU. He scored 20+ points in 35 of his 37 games played. Some of his most impressive feats include 47 points against Utah, 42 against Colorado State, 43 against San Diego State and 52 against New Mexico. Should the Phoenix Suns draft Jimmer Fredette?
The Phoenix Suns have the 13th pick in the NBA draft and the name most often tied to the Suns selection is James Taft ‘Jimmer’ Fredette of BYU. Fredette led the Cougars as their all-everything point guard and as the season progressed ‘Jimmermania’ swept the land.
Fredette consistently scored in the high 30′s and mid 40′s in the face of double and triple teams. He led the nation in scoring and led BYU’s high scoring offense to seventh in the nation. At the end of the season, the guard was crowned as the unanimous Player of the Year in addition to winning several other prestigious player of the year titles like Wooden Award, Naismith trophy and Adolph Rupp trophy among others. What the Anthony and Williams deals mean for the Suns
Just a few years back, many NBA fans joked around about how bad the Eastern Conference was compared to the West. Some even called it “Leastern” Conference. No one is calling it that anymore.
The East has gotten much more tougher the last couple of days days after a few trades. The New York Knicks acquired superstar forward Carmelo Anthony from the Denver Nuggets as part of a three-team deal just a few days back. The Knicks gave up three starters, but none of them are what you call elite talent. Now today, it has been reported that Jazz All-Star point point guard Deron Williams is headed to New Jersey to play with the Nets. Devin Harris and Derrick Favors and two first round picks are the pieces coming back to Utah in a deal that is a clear move for the future for Utah. (more…)
Dragic set to return tonight
For the first time since Jan. 28, Goran Dragic will be in uniform tonight against the Utah Jazz. Dragic cut his foot on a piece of glass at the end of January that acquired several stiches and kept the point guard to miss seven games.
Journeyman Zabian Dowdell has done a nice job in Dragic’s absence. In the last seven games in which the Suns have gone 5-2, Dowdell has averaged 4.5 points and and 2.8 assists a game. He has also done a very nice job defensively against opposing point guards. (more…)
