Steve Nash Prefers to Stay in Phoenix During Lockout
Suns fans got some of the best news of the entire offseason in regards to their star point guard.
In a press conference on Monday in Shanghai, Steve Nash stated that he would love to play in the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA), but other circumstances make him want to stay in Phoenix if the lockout goes well into the NBA regular season. (more…)
All Quiet on the Phoenix Suns Front
In a normal NBA offseason, we would be discussing free agency and possible trades that the Suns could make to improve their roster at the moment. Unfortunately for basketball fans, this is no ordinary summer with the lockout putting all usual league business on the back burner.
On the Suns front, things are about as dead as you can get as far as news goes and expect that to continue over the coming weeks and months ahead unless there is significant progress made between the owners and players. Sadly, there is a better chance of snow in Phoenix during the summer months than the two sides coming to an agreement any time soon. (more…)
Could NBA Player Migration Overseas Help Get A Deal Sooner?

What do Steve Nash, Kobe Bryant, Deron Williams and Dwight Howard all have in common? All are NBA superstars and ll of them are at or near the top at their position, but that is not it. All of them are seriously considering playing overseas if the NBA lockout extends into the season.
Williams was the player to first bring the possibility to the forefront. Williams is an accomplished point guard and was the first to join the New Jersey Nets movement to bring stars in and contend for a championship. Some native European NBA players had already decided to play in Europe, but the first major NBA star to throw his name in the European ring was Williams.
Now the aforementioned Bryant, Howard and Nash are joining a growing list of NBA players who will be looking to get paid to play overseas if the lockout takes away game checks. The dam is about to burst with a flood of NBA players heading overseas. (more…)
Steve Nash Interested in Playing Overseas?
You can add Steve Nash to a growing list of NBA superstars who are showing some interest in playing basketball overseas with the league currently in a lockout that is expected to last well into the winter.
Paul Coro, the Suns beat writer for the Arizona Republic wrote a great article this afternoon regarding Nash’s possible interest in playing overseas if the lockout does prevent the league from starting the regular season on time. Iman Shumpert: A Strange Choice for the New York Knicks

Talk in the last couple of days before the draft on Thursday had heated up on the Suns taking Iman Shumpert with the 13th pick overall. The Suns loved his athleticism, his ability to guard a number of different positions and saw him as a possible franchise point guard down the line.
Shumpert was available when the Suns were on the clock with their first and only pick on Thursday night, but Phoenix instead went with a big man and selected Markieff Morris out of Kansas. The Georgia Tech guard fell four spots later to the Knicks at 17. (more…)
