With J.J. Hickson in Sacramento, Phoenix Suns Should Look at Jason Thompson
The Sacramento Kings continued to improve their team late last week by acquiring power forward J.J. Hickson from Cleveland in exchange for forward Omar Casspi. After adding Hickson and putting together a solid draft, the young Kings are in prime position to surprise some people next season by making a playoff run.
Adding Hickson into the power forward mix makes Jason Thompson’s future with the club somewhat cloudy. There were discussions last season about Sacramento dealing him, with the Suns being one of the interested teams, but instead the Kings decided to hang onto him.
If the Suns want to make a strong push in the playoffs next season, the front office should go back to Sacramento to see if they are still willing to deal the power forward. (more…)

It’s the eve of the draft and the Phoenix Suns will be on the clock with the 13th pick if they do not find a way to move up. The Greg One has already gone on record as a member of the Jimmer Fredette fan club. So once and for all, after watching the draft boards, the televised coverage, the rumor mill and listening to Suns brass on the local airwaves, here is my prediction for the thirteenth pick. Drumroll please. (more…)
Phoenix Suns Offseason Priorities: Improve Bench
One of major reasons why the Suns shocked the entire league last season by getting to the Western Conference Finals against the Lakers was the strength of their bench. Phoenix’s second unit played well for the most part last season, but looking to improving will be a must for the organization this summer.
With Vince Carter not coming back, that more than likely means that Jared Dudley will stay in the starting rotation, unless Robert Sarver goes out and spends money on a starting two guard. With Sarver’s history and the lack of quality talent on the free agent market this summer, that seems very unlikely. (more…)
A Look Forward to the Phoenix Suns Offseason
Now that the season is over we come upon another season of tumult. The burning question is do we reload or rebuild. There is a core that can be built around but before construction, there must first be deconstruction.
Last season the question was keep Amar’e Stoudemire or let him walk. This season the same question lingers over Steve Nash. What should the Suns do this offseason? Here is a player-by-player breakdown of The Greg One’s plan for Suns improvement, starting at the top. (more…)
Phoenix Suns Season Recap: Silver Lining Edition
In the first installment of the Lord of The Rings trilogy, elf archer Legolas wistfully decries ‘I lament for Gandalf’ as he seeks comfort in the woods of Lothlorien after a fierce battle that results in Gandalf’s demise. (You had to have the extended edition to see it and if you don’t have it, get in the car NOW and go get it!)
Like Legolas, The Greg One laments for the Phoenix Suns lost season. The writing was on the wall from the beginning, but instead of rehashing what went wrong, lets make this the silver lining edition of Suns shop talk. Here we go. (more…)
