A Look Forward to the Phoenix Suns Offseason
Now that the season is over we come upon another season of tumult. The burning question is do we reload or rebuild. There is a core that can be built around but before construction, there must first be deconstruction.
Last season the question was keep Amar’e Stoudemire or let him walk. This season the same question lingers over Steve Nash. What should the Suns do this offseason? Here is a player-by-player breakdown of The Greg One’s plan for Suns improvement, starting at the top. (more…)
NBA Playoffs: Predicting The First Round
The Suns are already looking toward next season, but more than half of the NBA will be playing games this weekend to fight to play well into June for a chance at a NBA championship. I am going to look at each first round series and give my thoughts and predictions for each. Don’t hold me to these predictions when these series are over. I am no Nostradamus after all.
What the Anthony and Williams deals mean for the Suns
Just a few years back, many NBA fans joked around about how bad the Eastern Conference was compared to the West. Some even called it “Leastern” Conference. No one is calling it that anymore.
The East has gotten much more tougher the last couple of days days after a few trades. The New York Knicks acquired superstar forward Carmelo Anthony from the Denver Nuggets as part of a three-team deal just a few days back. Devin Harris and Derrick Favors and two first round picks are the pieces coming back to Utah in a deal that is a clear move for the future for Utah. (more…)
Cardiac Suns hold on against Blazers
It is never easy for a team that is struggling, but the Suns found a way to get a 115-111 victory over the Portland Trail Blazers last night. The win gives the Suns their second straight win in the getaway game before heading out to New York on Monday night to start a five-game road trip. The Suns also avoided a season sweep at the hands of the Blazers.
Things didn’t look good on the outset for Phoenix. They allowed a Portland team that doesn’t usually score a lot of points to score 36 in the first quarter. It was the highest total that the Suns have given up in the first 12 minutes all season long. The Suns defense clamped down after that though. Portland shot 62 percent in the first quarter, but ended up shooting a 48 percent and they were held to a respectable 75 points in the final three quarters. (more…)
Suns drop third straight to Blazers
On a night where former Suns great Kevin Johnson was in the house, the Suns laid a real stinker at home in a 101-94 loss to the very familiar Portland Trail Blazers. Ever since last year’s first round playoff, the Blazers have now won three straight over the Suns. (more…)
