Iman Shumpert: A Strange Choice for the New York Knicks

Talk in the last couple of days before the draft on Thursday had heated up on the Suns taking Iman Shumpert with the 13th pick overall. The Suns loved his athleticism, his ability to guard a number of different positions and saw him as a possible franchise point guard down the line.
Shumpert was available when the Suns were on the clock with their first and only pick on Thursday night, but Phoenix instead went with a big man and selected Markieff Morris out of Kansas. The Georgia Tech guard fell four spots later to the Knicks at 17. (more…)
Steve Nash Rumors to Big Apple Heating up

Despite the draft being less than 48 hours away, talk continues to be around Steve Nash’s future in a Suns uniform.
According to the New York Post’s Marc Berman, the Knicks are having discussions to bring the Suns point guard over to the Big Apple. In an article that was posted today on the Post’s web site, Berman discussed a trade that simply would be a swap of Nash for Chauncey Billups, who was part of the Carmelo Anthony deal late last season. NBA Playoffs: Predicting The First Round
The Suns are already looking toward next season, but more than half of the NBA will be playing games this weekend to fight to play well into June for a chance at a NBA championship. I am going to look at each first round series and give my thoughts and predictions for each. Don’t hold me to these predictions when these series are over. I am no Nostradamus after all.
What the Anthony and Williams deals mean for the Suns
Just a few years back, many NBA fans joked around about how bad the Eastern Conference was compared to the West. Some even called it “Leastern” Conference. No one is calling it that anymore.
The East has gotten much more tougher the last couple of days days after a few trades. The New York Knicks acquired superstar forward Carmelo Anthony from the Denver Nuggets as part of a three-team deal just a few days back. The Knicks gave up three starters, but none of them are what you call elite talent. Now today, it has been reported that Jazz All-Star point point guard Deron Williams is headed to New Jersey to play with the Nets. Devin Harris and Derrick Favors and two first round picks are the pieces coming back to Utah in a deal that is a clear move for the future for Utah. (more…)
Suns split season series with Stoudemire, Knicks
After being embarrassed nearly two weeks ago at home against the Knicks, the Suns returned the favor in their 129-121 victory in New York. The win gave Phoenix their third straight victory, two of them coming against teams with winning records.
It was hard to find either team playing defense in this one. Both teams had three 30+ point quarters a piece and both squads shot nearly 50 percent from the field. The difference in this one was the Suns advantage in rebounding and three-point shooting. The Suns outrebounded the Knicks by 10 and shot 52 percent from behind the arc compared to the Knicks shooting only 35 percent. Quite a drastic change in comparison to the first game back earlier this month between these same two teams.
