In a normal NBA offseason, we would be discussing free agency and possible trades that the Suns could make to improve their roster at the moment. Unfortunately for basketball fans, this is no ordinary summer with the lockout putting all usual league business on the back burner.

On the Suns front, things are about as dead as you can get as far as news goes and expect that to continue over the coming weeks and months ahead unless there is significant progress made between the owners and players. Sadly, there is a better chance of snow in Phoenix during the summer months than the two sides coming to an agreement any time soon. (more…)

The Suns got some very good news regarding their logjam at small forward this week.

In a recent interview with the French newspaper L’Equipe, Suns forward Mickael Pietrus said, “A lot of teams are interested in me, like the Lakers or the Celtics. Most of the media is discussing how the mighty Miami Heat lost this series against the Dallas Mavericks and LeBron James’ collapses in the fourth quarter throughout the six games, but instead journalists should be focusing on how remarkable Dallas played throughout the series to win the franchises first ever NBA championship.

It was the first NBA championship for every single member on the Dallas roster and owner Mark Cuban, but with this being a site about the Suns, it was two Mavericks in particular that caught the attention of basketball fans throughout the city of Phoenix. (more…)

It is never easy to watch the playoffs with the Suns not participating in them. Despite the Suns missing the postseason for the second time in three seasons, there have been a lot for Phoenix fans to enjoy over the last couple of months of postseason play.

Of course, the early exits by the hated Spurs and the Lakers are at the top of the list. It always hurts whenever the Suns miss out on a postseason chance, but it stings a little less when the fans of those teams suffer. God knows they have provided us Suns fans enough suffering over recent years. (more…)
