Phoenix Suns Fall Short on Jared Dudley’s Miss

For the third consecutive game, the Suns never held a lead and fell to the Rockets in Houston 95-93 tonight. Phoenix had a chance to win it on the last possession despite trailing throughout, but Jared Dudley missed an open three-pointer that would have given the Suns a one-point lead with only a few ticks left on the clock.

Turnovers and Houston 16 offensive rebounds were the two things that keyed the Rockets win. The Suns held the Rockets to 41 percent shooting, but the second chance points were a killer. Kevin Martin and Kyle Lowry were big for Houston totaling 41 points together, but it was Chuck Hayes and Jordan Hill that hurt the guys in purple and orange. Hayes and Hill more than made up for the absence of Luis Scola, who missed his third straight game. (more…)

When it rains, it pours for the Suns. Already without their starting power forward, Phoenix will continue being without Steve Nash for the next couple of games.

With his groin injury continuing to nag him, Nash will miss tonight’s game in Houston and Wednesday’s game in New Orleans. The injury kept Nash out of yesterday’s game and slowed him down in others. It has been well documented how much the Suns have struggled when their star point guard has missed action. Phoenix is 0-3 without Nash this season and 9-20 without the two-time MVP since he came back to the desert in 2004. (more…)

Nearly two weeks into being in a Suns uniform, Aaron Brooks is still making adjustments to his role with his new team. His game has been up and down and some fans are starting to grow impatient.

If you take the Boston game out of the equation, a game in which Brooks went off for 17 points and seven assists, the point guard has mostly struggled. Minus the Celtics game, Brooks has scored only 27 points and dished out 12 assists in five games in purple and orange. He was held scoreless and grabbed only two boards and had one assist last night against his old team. (more…)

Vince Carter, Hakim Warrick Step up in Phoenix Suns victory

To the disappointment of many Suns fans, both Vince Carter and Hakim Warrick have struggled over the past couple of months despite Phoenix’s improved play in getting back into the playoff picture. That wasn’t the case on Tuesday night.

Behind 32 points from both Carter and Warrick respectively, the Suns held on to defeat the Houston Rockets, 113-110. Carter more than made up for his two missed free throws that he had the other night when Phoenix had the chance to retake the lead from Oklahoma City in overtime. Warrick set a career high in scoring in replacing Channing Frye in the starting lineup. He also had eight rebounds and four assists. (more…)
