The much anticipated move by Alvin Gentry and the Suns organization is now complete. The Suns head man announced late Monday night that Elston Turner has been hired as Gentry’s “defensive coordinator” for the upcoming season.

Turner, who was a finalist for the Suns head coaching job in 2008, became the favorite for the job once Jim Boylan re-signed with Milwaukee last week. Turner’s case for the job was also helped after Don Newman opted to stay in San Antonio and Pete Myers took a job in Golden State. (more…)

The Suns will have some big decisions ahead of them this offseason, but keeping Grant Hill in Phoenix is the easiest decision that Robert Sarver and company will have to make over the summer.

Despite being 38 years old heading into last season, the veteran had arguably his best season since he came to the Valley of the Sun. Hill put up his best totals in points since coming to Phoenix and wasn’t too far behind in rebounds and assists. However, it was what the small forward did at the other end of the court that made him so valuable and helped made the Suns respectable in 2010-2011. (more…)
