No doubt about it. I see his point and the likelihood of him dictating his ticket to a 2012 NBA championship. I mean he did have to play with Steve Nash after the trade from Orlando. Tough. Kobe said he wants him, and Kobe influences everything from Deron Williams showing up there to the new coach Brian Shaw. I see that angle. Certainly, with Pietrus' championship pedigree, he is desired in Boston and LA. I can't wait until DWade and LeBron hear about this...they will want to get into the Pietrus sweepstakes. Win -Win Pietrus gets his chance for a championship somewhere and the impending bidding war for this talent will be off the charts, undoubtedly, returning the Suns some incredible talent. :)

Larry, I am not opposed to acquiring Billups, as long as there is another young piece or two attached to him. I think your offer is fair for both teams. As far as your other one, that is a totally different story. As a Suns fan, I would jump on that deal in a heartbeat, but I highly doubt the Clips would.

I think Nash and Lopez fills the needs for the Knicks. In return they send Billups, Landry Fields and Shumpert to the Suns. If I am not mistaken the Knicks have no 1st round pick except maybe 2013 for the foreseeable future. As a Suns follower I would then package Pietrus, Warrick, Childress and maybe Lawal and perhaps a 2012 second rounder of the Knicks to the Clippers for Kaman and Aminu. Following this when the CBA is signed and free agents can be signed the Suns should sign Arron Affalo and Winston Chandler of the Nuggets.

You aren't going to get a two-time MVP and one of the greatest point guards of all-time for nothing. I think a Billups, Shumpert and a future pick is more than a fair deal for Nash.

Whoever thinks Nash = First Rounder + Shumpert + Billups + Fields really is an imbecile.

Heck why not put Carmelo and STAT and give us back Hakim Warrick and Josh Childress.

Wow.

He s a system point guard..Blahblahblah.The so-called debate on whether Steve Nash can still play effective and consistent basketball is ridiculous and frankly irresponsible. Last season in the most tumultuous and difficult year of his 13 year career Nash put up numbers that almost bested his first MVP season in 04 05.. 08-09 15.7 ppg 9.7 apg 3.4 tpg 93.3 FT 43.9 3PT 50.3 FG . 04-05 15.5 ppg 11.5 apg 3.3 tpg 88.7 FT 43.1 3PT 50.2 FG .Those are sick numbers and he did it with much less options to work with even from his 2nd MVP season with Amare out in 05-06. The real question here is right now who is the more effective player Kidd or Nash?

Very good article. I agree 100%. Those two def deserve to be Champions, along with the rest of the Mavs organization. Dirk is a machine.

I like Klay a bit more than Jordan Hamilton if I was picking one or the other. Klay is a taller "Stephen Curry" if you ask me. NBA bloodlines, great scorer, opposing teams designing their entire defense to stop him....and smooth stroke. Plus, he has a little of that assassin in him. - (see Pac 10 tourney)

I spent the winter in Texas, and Jordan Hamilton is a good player, however, watching UT games it seemed like he "disappeared" from time to time. Being the casual fan (but hoops nut) I would sometimes say to myself, "Oh yea, there's Jordan Hamilton..."

I know that isn't a NFL combine report on JH, but I never wondered where Klay Thompson was at watching WASU games. Texas was a very disappointing team with JH, Tristan Thompson, and others.

Anyhow, good stuff Sunszoo...
