Josh Childress talks the talk
Josh Childress may have spent two years in Greece, but he returns with his signature afro intact. In his introductory press conference he addressed many of the points I made about him when he signed. In the video above, Childress addresses the difference between the international and the NBA game. He said the international game is slower but the players are great. In his two years in Greece his game has matured and he had to work on his decision making and ball handling.
I say again, Childress could be the free agent steal of the offseason. Childress did not lack for talent before he left for Greece and now he’s had two years to refine his game and mature as a person. Going to Europe may turn out to be the best thing he could have done to extend his career. Now, he comes to a team and a system that suits his play to a tee and in Phoenix, he will finally reach his potential and help keep the Suns in contention for many years to come.
Must see: Suns dancers swimsuit calendar shoot
For their first time ever in calendar form, the Phoenix Suns dancers made the transition to the glossy pages. What can be better than a Phoenix Suns dancers calendar? A Phoenix Suns dancers swimsuit calendar!! In the above video, go behind the scenes and check out all the hotness for yourself.
Behind every hot team are hotter cheerleaders and the Phoenix Suns cheerleaders are the hottest! It’s no wonder that the Suns are the highest flying team in the league, if you had the sexy eyes of these ladies gleaming at you every time you threw down a nasty dunk or sank a long three-pointer you would fly high as well. These ladies would make a Bishop want to kick out a stained glass window! Press play and enjoy!
Suns add free agent Janning
The Phoenix Suns signed undrafted free agent guard Matt Janning on Wednesday. Janning, 22, was the third leading scorer on the Suns summer league team averaging 12.6 points and third leading rebounder with 5.8 rebounds per game. Terms have not been disclosed but it is a multi-year contract. Last season Janning led the Northwestern Wildcats in scoring with 15.4 points per game.
Janning played on the Boston Celtics summer league team before joining the summer Suns. The Suns are very deep at the guard position. Goran Dragic thrived in his second full season as the heir apparent to Steve Nash. Any guard who comes into the Suns system will be better as a result of being able to learn from Steve Nash. Nash will undoubtedly go down in history as one of the all-time great point guards in NBA history. Let’s hope Janning and Dragic will improve themselves on the defensive end as well.
Suns make roster cuts
The Phoenix Suns continued to shape up their roster last week by trimming a couple players from their roster. Taylor Griffin and Louis Amundson have been released and are now free agents. Griffin, the older brother of Blake Griffin, spent most of his rookie year in the Suns D-league affiliate in Iowa. Griffin played 32 garbage time minutes over the course of the entire season last year. After a lackluster showing in this season’s summer league Griffin was cut. Looks like Blake got all the talent between these two brothers.
Amundson will be missed in Phoenix. (more…)
Suns draftee Collins to play in Europe
With the final pick in the 2010 NBA draft the Phoenix Suns selected Dwayne Collins out of the University of Miami. Collins played on the Phoenix summer league team and it has been determined that he will play in Europe this season. Italy’s Cimberio Varese will be Collins new home this season. Hopefully he will hone his skills while gaining valuable pro level experience. Collins will get exponentially more time on the court than he would see at the end of the Suns bench this season.
In a season where (more…)
